The Central Insights Unit of the GSMA Mobile for Development (M4D) programme commissioned UrbanEmerge to undertake a study to understand the current and potential role of digital technologies in addressing climate change in LDCs. GSMA will use the findings of this research to i) influence external stakeholder such as mobile network operators (MNOs), innovators and tech companies, investors and government policy makers, and ii) to help the M4D team take stock of their involvement in climate related work and refresh their strategy, selecting or validating a set of interventions that address areas of high impact and best reflect the GSMA’s comparative advantage.
